Bill Dumond and his crew did an amazing job. Price was competitive and Bill was very professional and accommodating. Overall great experience and very high quality work. It is very difficult to find contractors like Bill and I appreciated his honesty, timeliness and the entire experience from beginning to end.

We had nothing but excellent experiences dealing with Pacific West Painting! The owner/sales representative, Bill Dumond provided knowledgeable and comprehensive info in reviewing the job before he submitted his detailed proposal (we had two competing proposals for the job.) The job foreman and all of the workers seemed to really be dedicated to the work and making sure that we were satisfied with what they were doing throughout the time on the job. Their attention to detail and the final look of the job was clearly the best of all painting contractors we have had over the years. Bill made a final visual review of the entire job with us to insure our complete satisfaction with the work. We highly recommend Pacific West!

My elderly mother moved into an assisted living facility & her home of 40 years had to be cleared out & prepped for rental. I called Bill Dumond of Pacific West Painting to come out to the house to give me an estimate for prep & painting of the entire interior. I live 75 miles away & there was a considerable amount of prep work required, so I had Bill walk from room to room while on the phone, so I could tell him everything I wanted done. Bill advised me to have a coat of oil based primer put on all interior surfaces, because my mother was a smoker & the tars could leach through a water base paint. After we went over everything, Bill gave me the quote & it was about the same total cost as another painter’s estimate. But Bill’s estimate included the additional oil base primer and significant more prep work than the other guy. At first he said he couldn’t schedule me in for about a month, but to accommodate me, he was able to shift some things around and start in about 2 days, so I gave him the job. We were also having the floors replaced & Bill was able to coordinate with the flooring guy to do all the prep & paint work before the floors were installed, then come back & paint the base boards after they were installed. Throughout the job, Bill called me about any details that were unclear, so there were no misunderstandings. We discussed things like which doorknobs, drawer pulls, towel racks, toilet paper holders, etc to keep & which to toss. It was refreshing to work with someone who actually communicates with you! Thanks to Bill, the house was completely prepped, painted & the floors installed in about 9 days.

The end result was an amazing transformation from an old, tired interior, lost in the 70’s to a beautiful, modern home, anybody would be proud of. I highly recommend Pacific West Painting for a job well done. All in all, it was a big job, done right, on time & for a very good price. If you want good work, honesty & excellent communications, Bill is your guy.

Description Of Work:
Prep & paint the entire interior of a 40 year old house. The prep work included removal of paneling, pegboard, mirrors & wallpaper borders in 2 bedrooms, a mirrored wall & frame around a sliding door in the master bedroom, removal of various trim pieces & change out others, fill in grooves in living room paneling, remove popcorn ceilings in 2 bedrooms, closets in hallway & master bedroom. Many walls & ceiling surfaces had to be patched, sanded & a light orange peel texture applied. After all prep work & texture was completed, a coat of oil base primer was applied to all interior surfaces. This was followed by 2 coats of latex paint, flat for common walls, eggshell for kitchen & bathrooms and semi-gloss for cabinets, baseboards, doors, window sills, heater vents, trim & hutch.

Pacific West Painting Delivered on their promise. From the very start to the last detail, Bill and his crew provided excellent service and quality.

The preparation, sanding and stucco repair were excellent, making the house look like new after the paint went on. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job at a reasonable price.

All work was performed as agreed and even some additional work done at no extra charge. Areas not to be painted were protected. I am VERY happy with the work and paint job. A couple of very small items identified during final inspection were corrected the same day and 100% satisfied!

Wow, Look at the House Paint Job, Northridge, Ca

I called Bill for a free estimate to paint the exterior of our 1951 one story 1200 sq. ft. ranch-style house. Bill came and walked all around the house and took notes, asked me questions, answered my questions. Then he left with his notes to write up a detailed estimate. This is a main reason why we chose Pacific West Painting.

Other painters would just give me a number right then. I didn’t trust that they could really see the extent of the work that needed to be done. Bill got it. He knew the house was in bad shape and needed a ton of good, detailed prep work. He seemed to love the idea of turning our peeling paint and cracking stucco into a great looking house.

Scheduling the job was challenging because Bill is busy and in demand! Also, the weather was not cooperating and we were having lots of fall rain. When the job got started, there were 4 to 5 guys here every day for 6 days. They traveled to our house in Northridge from Ventura (an hour’s drive), and Bill himself came by most days. The prep for the painting was detailed and exactly what I thought his crew would do.

Bill also recommended a great carpenter, Adam Hamilton, who did some awesome and much appreciated work for us too! I can’t really explain how much it means to us that they were so detailed and careful with our house. The paint and the house looks really beautiful now.

Bill didn’t charge a penny over his original estimate and my interactions with him over the whole process was great. He and his crew accommodated our crazy schedules and were willing to work the weekend to get the job done.

Finally, just this morning, I could hear someone say as they were walking by, “Wow, look at that house. What a nice house!” Thanks Bill and your crew!

Very professional crew, performed the work as specified, ahead of schedule and very neat. After completion the crew cleaned up and left the site as they found it. I couldn’t find a drop of paint or over-spray anywhere. Very satisfied with the job.
